Mathematics is a crucial subject in Class 12 board exam. Students keen on getting good marks must be thorough with the Maths marking scheme.  It will help them in giving their best performance within the stipulated time duration of 3 hours during the board exam. Every year, the board releases the CBSE Class 12 Maths Sample Paper along with the marking scheme to provide students an idea of the actual exam pattern and marks weightage of the paper. This year also, the board has made available the CBSE Class 12 Maths Sample Paper 2021 and Marking Scheme for students to help in their exam preparation. By solving the Class 12 Maths 2021 sample papers and then going through the marking scheme, students can practise well and prepare effectively for the exam.

Due to the widespread of Coronavirus, the board had reduced the CBSE Class 12 Maths Syllabus by 30% right at the beginning of the academic session 2020-21. The Maths sample paper of Class 12 is as per the reduced syllabus. So, students are advised to go through the paper and marking scheme to know the latest exam pattern and changes made in the Maths paper. Analysing CBSE Class 12 Maths Marking Scheme not only helps students to score good marks in the board exam but also helps them to understand how marks are awarded for every correct step.

Students should be very particular about step marks as they are very important and helpful in getting full marks. For every correct step that a student writes down, he or she is awarded marks for it. Students must note that figures and conclusion statements carry marks as well.

CBSE Class 12 Maths Paper Pattern 2021

The Maths question paper 2021 will contain 2 parts as shown below. Both parts will have choices. Time duration of 3 hours will be given to all students to attempt the Maths question paper of 80 marks.

Part – A:

  1. It consists of two sections – I and II.
  2. Section I comprises 16 very short answer type questions.
  3. Section II contains 2 case studies. Each case study comprises 5 case-based MCQs. Students have to attempt any 4 out of 5 MCQs.

Part – B:

  1. It consists of three sections – III, IV and V.
  2. Section III comprises 10 questions of 2 marks each.
  3. Section IV comprises 7 questions of 3 marks each.
  4. Section V comprises 3 questions of 5 marks each.
  5. Internal choice is provided in 3 questions of Section – III, 2 questions of Section IV and 3 questions of Section-V. Students have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions.
