MoUs/Agreements signed during visit of Prime Minister to Palestine
- Setting up of India-Palestine Super-specialty hospital at Beit Sahour in Bethelhem Governorate at a cost of US$ 30 million.
- Construction of India Palestine Centre for Empowring women, “Turathi” at a cost of US$ 5 million.
- Setting up of new National Printing Press at Ramallah at a cost of US$ 5 million.
- Construction of school in Muthalth Al Shuhada Village at a cost of US$ 1 million.
- Construction of school in Tamoon village in Tubas Governorate in Palestine at a cost of US$ 1.1 million.
- Assistance of US$ US$ 0.25 million for construction of additional floor to Jawahar Lal Nehru for Boys at Abu Dees.
2nd National Meet on Grassroot Informatics – VIVID
- It is aimed at showcasing the various initiatives of NIC in creating and enhancing the Digital Infrastructure in the country.
- Some of these are – setting up of ICT infrastructure, developing state of the art products to enable the government and empower the citizens.
- National Informatics Centre (NIC) is organizing a three-day National Meet on Grassroot Informatics- VIVID 2018 from Thursday, 08th February to Saturday, 10th February, 2018 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
- The Theme for VIVID 2018 is “Cyber security and innovation”.
- NIC also launched “VidyaKosh”, a Learning Management System (LMS) for NIC officials to make use of the latest digital technology in their day to day activities by upgrading their skills to provide better services to the citizens.
- VidyaKosh is a National Digital Repository to store, index, preserve, distribute and share the digital learning resources with NIC employees. The objective is to make learning easier and in a new way at their ease and convenient.
National Informatics Centre (NIC)
- It was established in 1976, and has since emerged as a “prime builder” of e-Government / e-Governance applications up to the grassroots level as well as a promoter of digital opportunities for sustainable development.
- NIC, through its ICT Network, “NICNET”, has institutional linkages with all the Ministries /Departments of the Central Government, 36 State Governments/ Union Territories, and about 708 District administrations of India.
