What will be the Cutoff for UPSC 2019?

The UPSC Prelims 2020 was conducted on October 4, 2020, and the cut off marks for the same shall be released soon by the conducting body. In this article, discussed are a few tips to estimate the cut off for the upcoming recruitment and prepare yourself accordingly.

The cutoff expected for UPSC Prelims 2020 would be in the range of 95 to 98 (+ to – 3) for general category. However, there is more clarity on the cutoff for UPSC Prelims 2019, General category – 98, Other Backward Class (OBC) – 95.35, SC – 82, ST – 77.34. For physically handicapped candidates the cutoff ranged from 44.66 to 61.34. The cutoff for UPSC Mains 2018 are listed below.

How UPSC Cutoff is Calculated?

UPSC uses the word minimum qualifying mark instead of cutoff. The minimum qualifying mark is nothing but the mark obtained by the last qualifying candidate in the merit list prepared by the UPSC. Usually UPSC calls approximately 12 to 13 times the number of vacancies for the year. Moreover, candidates must score a minimum of 33% in the CSAT paper.
