India Rankings 2017
- The India Rankings 2017for the Educational Institutions were released
- This is the second such edition of India Rankings. A total of 2995 institutions have participated in the process
- It has ranked institutions in the disciplines/categories mentioned above, and have also provided a common overall rank across all disciplines for those institutes which either have more than 1000 enrolled students, or which are centrally funded
The ranks are as follows
- Overall – IISC Bangalore
- Engineering – IIT Madras
- Management – IIM Ahmedabad
- University – IISC Bangalore
- College – Miranda House, New Delhi
- Pharmacy – Jamia Hamdard New Delhi
About National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)
- NIRF was launched for educational institutions was launched to meet a felt need for a framework that would enable parents, students, teachers, educational institutions and other stakeholders to rank institutions on the basis of a set of objective parameters and a transparent process
- Developed by a team of experts in education and heads of institutions, the portal and the framework is presently available for engineering and management institutions
- Soon, methodologies, parameters and process for ranking universities along with architecture and planning institutions would also be available online
The parameters are under the five broad heads
- Teaching learning and resources (30%)
- Research, consulting and collaborative performance (30%)
- Graduation outcomes (15%)
- Outreach and inclusivity (15%)
- Perception (10%)
