What is the Full form of i.e.?

The full form of i.e. is id est. It is a Latin word meaning that is or in other words. It is used to specify a concept that has already been described. To convey an idea quite explicitly, it gives more information. It is distinct from, e.g., that is used to provide an example.

It is used to help describe something or as an even more clarification about something. The entire sentence is broken into two sections. The first section says something, as well as part two (following, i.e.) further describes or elaborates. The use of, i.e. in a statement makes it clear.
