What is the full form of the IVF?
The full form IVF is In Vitro Fertilization. The most widely used process is ART (assisted reproductive technologies) in vitro fertilisation. IVF is carried out under restrictive lab conditions by fusing ova from the woman donor and sperm from the male donor outside of the body. The baby is known as a test-tube baby or zygote. After culturing the embryo, the embryo is relocated to the mother’s uterus. This procedure is widely used in women with clogged or weakened Fallopian tubes.
Necessary steps to be followed for IVF
There are four fundamental steps to be followed to achieve IVF which are,
Step 1
In the first step, fertility treatments are used in the female body to stimulate the development of eggs. As some eggs may not mature or fertilise after recovery, so numerous eggs are necessary.
Step 2
A minor surgical procedure to retrieve eggs is part of the second step. A hollow needle directed by ultrasound scans is inserted through the pelvic cavity to remove ovarian follicles from the ovary. In order to remove available eggs, the follicular fluids are then scanned.
Step 3
In the third stage, in the laboratory, the eggs are fertilised with man’s sperm. The eggs are supervised to make sure that there are fertilisation and division of cells. The embryos are left to mature for 2 to 6 days before being relocated to the uterus.
Step 4
A four to five-day old embryo is inserted in the female uterus using a tube or slender, a small catheter in the fourth stage. Implantation typically occurs about six to ten days after the recovery of the egg. The woman is examined after around 9 to 12 days to guarantee that the embryo is successfully inserted.
