What is the full form of RTI?
The full form of RTI is Right to Information. The RTI Act, 2005, which was adopted on 15 June 2005 by the Indian Parliament and entered into force on 12 October 2005, grants the right to information. The RTI ‘s goal is to safeguard access to data under public authority management to ensure accountability and transparency in the functioning of public authorities.
Scope of RTI
The Act extends to all of India. Jammu & Kashmir Right to Information Act was already in force in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Nevertheless, after the revocation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh came under the Central Act. It includes all constitutional authorities, including executives, legislatures, and judiciaries; any organization or body founded or constituted by an act of state legislature or a Parliament.
