Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) was set up in 1969 under the Haryana Board of School Education Act, which was further amended by Haryana Act No. 2 of 1970. It is also known as Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH). BSEH is ISO 9001: 2008 organisation owned by the Department of School Education, Haryana. The Board of School Education Haryana helps to organise the Public Examinations at Middle, Matric (Secondary or High School) and Senior Secondary School(Academic & Vocational) levels annually in the state of Haryana through the affiliated schools.

Latest Notification: The Haryana Government announced its decision to postpone the Class 12 exams and cancel its Class 10 board exams 2021, due to the rising COVID-19 cases. Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that the results of Haryana Board Class 10 will be declared on the basis of the internal assessment of students. Meanwhile, the situation will be reviewed and a decision a about Class 12 Exams 2021, will be taken after 1 June 2021.

About Board of School Education, Haryana

The HBSE or the Board of School Education, Haryana is the state government administered education body of Haryana. It is responsible for conducting the Class 8, Class 10, and Class 12 exams every year for all affiliated schools in the state. Apart from conducting middle level (8th standard), matric level (10th standard) and Senior Secondary level (12th Class) exams, the Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH) is also responsible for giving affiliations to schools, prescribing courses and syllabus, etc.

Board of Secondary Education, Haryana Details

The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) or the HBSE is an autonomous educational authority and is administered by the Government of Haryana. As the headquarters of the board is at Bhiwani, the board is also referred to as the Haryana Bhiwani board. The primary role of HBSE is to conduct the Class 8 (middle level), Class 10 (matric) and Class 12 (senior secondary) exams for all affiliated schools in the state.

Every year, almost 4 lakh students appear for the HBSE Secondary School Examination (SSE) i.e. class 10 exam. Nearly 2.5 lakh candidates appear for the HBSE Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) i.e. class 12 exams. Apart from conducting these exams, the Board of Secondary Education Haryana is also responsible for providing affiliations to schools, prescribing syllabus and textbooks, declaring results, etc.

Board of School Education, Haryana Statistics for Class 10 and 12

  • Haryana Board Class 10 Statistics

The class 10 exams are generally conducted in the month of March every year and the results are declared in May. Every year, almost 3-4 lakh students appear for the SSE exam which is conducted across various test centres across the state. In general, the girls have always outperformed boys in the class 10 exams.

  • Haryana Board Class 12 Statistics

The board of secondary education, Haryana conducts the class 12 exams in the months of March to April (tentatively) every year. The results for class 12 are generally declared by the third week of May. Nearly 2 to 2.5 lakh students appear for the SSCE class 12 exams from all the streams. Even in class 12 exams, girls generally outperform boys.

It can be seen that the total students who are appearing for Class 10 and 12 have reduced in 2020 when compared to 2019. The HBSE also has a good retention rate and a good number of students continue their senior (higher) secondary education after completing their secondary education.

HBSE Syllabus

The Haryana education board prescribes the syllabus for all affiliated schools in the state. The syllabus is designed after thorough research and brain mapping the requirements of the students. HBSE Exam Dates and Results

In general, the Haryana board conducts the class 10 exams in the month of March and class 12 exams in the months of March to April. The class 10 exams start by the second week of March and end by the last week of March. On the other hand, the class 12 exams start by the second week of March and end by the first week of April. 30 days are given for the purpose of application for rechecking from the date of declaration of result.

If somebody looses his/her pass certificate, can one get a Duplicate Certificate

Yes. One has to apply on prescribed form along with the prescribed fee applicable as below:
A. Rs. 500/- for getting a Duplicate Certificate on the same day by hand.
B. Rs. 300/- for getting a Duplicate Certificate by registered post within a week.
C. Rs. 200/- for getting a Duplicate Certificate by registered post in routine.
A photograph has to be attached with the application form with both the photograph and the form attested by the Principal of the School last attended.If the Duplicate Certificate is also lost then along with the above, an Affidavit has to be enclosed certifying that the Duplicate Certificate has been lost.
