Tamil Nadu has issued the provisional merit list of eligible candidates for admission in government and private institutes in the state of Tamil Nadu for MBBS and BDS courses on the basis of NEET.
On the basis of NEET Merit List, the Supreme Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to start the counselling process for admissions to BDS and MBBS seats. September 4, 2017, is the last date to conclude the process according to the Tamil Nadu government.
After the Supreme Court directed the Tamil Nadu government to conduct medical counselling under NEET, it was made to speed up the announcement of the allotment results. Once the results are declared, candidates can check them on the official website.
The Supreme Court was told by the Centre that no ordinance was coming on the issue. After the Attorney general told the court about the ordinance not getting cleared, the medical counselling as directed by the court was completed by 4th September. Applicants can download their call letters from the official website.
It has also published a tentative schedule for counselling and intimated the candidates after the 2nd round of counselling for ALL India Quota seats. Students taking admission will not be permitted to vacate the seats. Applicants are requested to carefully read all the information given in the Call Letter.

Candidates should be aware that the counselling will be conducted and completed by 4th September 2017. 50,558 applications have been received by the Directorate of Medical Education out of which 31,323 were looking for admissions to 2,594 seats.
