WBBSE Madhyamik Pariksha Board (Class 10)

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education which is also commonly known as WBBSE is the main board that is responsible for regulating, controlling and developing the secondary education of the state. The board was established in the year 1951 under the West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950 and it enjoys the status of being an autonomous body. The board also works in tandem with the West Bengal state administration and advises the government on all matters relating to the Class 10 education. Notably, the board carries out several duties and functions which are all mainly focused on the growth and advancement of the education system in the state. Some of its main functions include;

• Create the curriculum, devise the syllabus and prescribed textbooks.
• Announce the exam results.
• Issue school leaving certificates.
• Grant affiliations and also maintain a high standard of education in schools by conducting periodic inspections.
• Meet the educational needs of class 10 students.

The WBBSE board is the main board that conducts the Class 10 Secondary Examination, which is also called Madhyamik Pariksha. The exam is conducted annually across the state of Bengal and also in the affiliated schools which are located outside the state. The exam is usually held in the months of February and March. The board usually releases the class 10 exam date sheet on its official website. As for the result, it is mostly released in the month of April or May. While results are something to look forward to after the exams, it is important for students to get high grades. The results will basically determine which streams students will select when they reach the +2 level.
