What is the full form of ICU?

The full form of ICU is the Intensive Care Unit. It is a special hospital division that offers patients suffering from a severe accident or disease with critical care medications and intensive care. Patients with the most severe and life-threatening illnesses or injuries that require continuous and constant supervision by a staff of specialist physicians and nurses are treated in intensive care units. The team is specialized in the treatment of patients who are seriously ill or badly injured. The ICU is also recognized as the CCU (Critical Care Unit) or ITU (Intensive Treatment Unit).

Injuries & diseases that need different ICU treatment

ICUs often have their staff, like respiratory therapists, physical therapists, pharmacists, anaesthesia specialists, and so on.
