The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the result of Class 12 exam on Tuesday, July 21. The result is now available on the website- pseb.ac.in. Around 2.9 lakh students appeared in the Class 12 exam this year which was postponed midway due to the steep rise in the coronavirus cases across the country. The pending papers were scheduled to be held in July but were cancelled. For the cancelled papers, the evaluation will be done on the basis of the exams conducted already. The students will get the marks on the basis of the performance on their best three subjects. Girls have recorded better results this year in PSEB Class 12 exams with 94.83 percent, whereas 90.99 percent boys passed the board exam.
The overall pass percentage is 90.98. In government schools, 94.32% of total students have cleared the exam this year. The Punjab Board has also changed the passing criteria, students have to secure now at least 20 per cent marks in practical and 33 per cent in theory section to get passed. In PSEB 12th result 2019, the pass percentage was recorded at 86.41 per cent. The pass percentage of open school candidate was 58.2 per cent.
Class 12 students from the Science stream have secured the highest pass percentage at 94.82 percent. In Commerce stream, the overall pass percentage was recorded at 91.05 percent. In Arts, 92.87 percent students passed the PSEB 12th exam, while 88.81 percent passed from the Vocational stream.
All those students who will flunk in the main exams have one more opportunity. They can sit for the compartment exams, the dates of which will be announced soon.

Steps to Check the PSEB Class 12 Results 2020
1. Go to the Punjab Board Official Website
2. Then, click on the “Results” link found on the top menu
3. A new tab opens up, now click on the “ Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination Provisional Result March 2020” link
4. A New page opens up where you have to enter “roll number” or “name.”
5. After entering the required detail click on the “Find results” tab
6. Results will now be displayed on the screen
Another way to check PSEB Class 12 Results 2020 is by SMS. Students just have type PB 12 <Roll No> and send to 5676750.
